But I thought we were FRIENDS?! D:
Guys, I really have to stop befriending demon-fridges...
YOUTUBER: Maya, The Bubble E1

I might have taken my eyes away

(+1)

He wanted to be friends.... Well this has gone wrong. :)

Nice game tho, continue the good work bud!

(+2)

does this game have an ending

This game felt like FNaF to me (in a good way) and it was a really impressive game! The shadows and light looks really amazing and suited the pixel like graphics. The way the fridge moved, sounded and spoke was great and well done, even the little doll on the right was a good hidden-like addition! The room was well done, with multiple papers everywhere trying to tell a story about the fridge and also the backstory of other people.

Main problem I had was that I didn't know how to move and place objects. I did see other walkthroughs and they somehow could freely move things and place the magnets on the fridge, but I couldn't no matter how I tried. I might have missed something so it's probably my fault, but maybe a quick tutorial on how the controls work might be a good thing. If not, you could just put them on the papers that are strewn on the floor so after some exploration, the player could find it and realise what to do.

Other than that, it was a great game and super fun to play! Great job and good luck!

Hi, thanks for the great video!
Of course, it's our fault that we made the controls not obvious. We were in a hurry to get everything done in a week. To move items, you have to hover the cursor and hold the LMB.

(+1)

Even after I solved the game, replaying it sends a shiver up my spine whenever the demonic ramblings begin, very well done!

(+1)

i had alot of fun with this game the papers where kinda annoying but its a very unique type of horror game that does not come around often especially with a demon inside a fridge lol.

(+1)

This is an absolutely amazing game, i love the style, the not quite known story, and the tense atmosphere, and game-play

P.s. This reminded me of Control, and SCP-173

(+1)

Let's just say I took my eyes off the fridge... (Game 2)

Very unique and creepy, although I wish you could do more in the game. All and all the game was good and served it's purpose. keep up the good work, can't wait to see what you make in the future!
(+1)

Love the art style! Got a little curious while playing...

(+2)

A great mix of ridiculous concept executed extremely well. The fridge is creepy, but the controls left a bit to be wanted.

(+1)

This is a decent game with a good concept. But the active mechanics for moving items didn't work consistently. I'm not sure if it was just my game or all of them. Id give it a 6 out of 10

(+1)

Pros and cons are down below) Check out my vid here (the game is the 3d there, likes and subs are highly appreciated)):

Advantages:

1. The mechanics are very original! I never saw something like that before and never expected a fridge to be threatening and scary! I'm going to keep an eye on my fridges from now on)

2. I really enjoyed the detalisation. So many notes with a piece of lore and story, objects and boxe. Really makes the place seem alive.

3. Different endings! The fact that there is a different animation for each end is such a treat! Great job! Disadvantages:

1. I think the main issue is the lack of "tutorial" in the game. It would be nice to have a note which would explain that the player can drag objects as well as interact with them. I know that this is explained on the game page but it's more convenient to have key bindings written in the game somewhere.

2. The other thing that I didn't like is that we can start spelling the fridge's name before we find a note that says the name. I think that's kind of weird. But oh, well, it doesn't really make the game worse.

Overall:

Definitely 5/5! Such a great game! Such a great experience! I loved it! I wish I could rate the game on the jam to help you out, but, unfortunately, I can't. Wish you good luck!) Can't wait to see more games from you)

Hope my feedback was useful!

(+1)

Thank you so much for such a detailed review of our little game! It's really nice to get such feedback.

All the problems grow out of the fact that this is a jam game. And also for all of us, this is our first Unreal Engine game. All these things we are already fixing, but according to jam rules, we can't update the game before the results are announced.

(+1)

Very fun! Some things I couldn’t figure out until I realized I could left-click and hold, but once I did, and used the clues to my advantage, I was set. I love the atmosphere and original antagonist. Very well done!

(+1)

Great game and idea. I love the graphics and gameplay!

Game start at 0:32

This game SCARED ME!! The demon's voice is literally soooo creepy, every time it spoke it scared me. It's such a simple game and yet such a great concept!

Great job!! 😃

(+1)

It's an awesome concept, sadly that picked up thing was a bit confusing to me, I needed to hold the LMB down and then hover over stuff to pick it up.

I didn't felt the fridge coming any closer that would have been awesome, almost like a time pressure to get it done, like this I sadly had no immediate thread to worry about.

(+1)

This is such a cool idea for a game! Love the one setting and inability to move, really makes you get more and more desperate as the fridge gets closer!

(+1)

i loke it :3

(+1)

It's really impressive to pack so much into such a small package, it's simple but really really effective!

Thoughts:

First thing that stood out to me was the art style. It really conveys this really eerie atmosphere. Then as soon as you look away for the first time, and the dang fridge starts talking about how he is a ninja while loudly stumping towards is pretty creepy. I played around with this game a little because I thought it was cool so what's being seen in the video isn't my first play through, but trust me my first play through was trash and I didn't know you could move things even though I read the game store page lol. This game is pretty good and even though it was made for a game jam maybe it could get a few more updates to flush things out a little more. I would be interested to see what the devs would do.

I know this is a game jam game but maybe a few more updates I really like this game.

Suggestion:

If your eyes stay closed it moves closer

Maybe Bug:

I never had to get the letter "I"

(+1)

Thank you!

Yes, we created this for a jam, but we have some plans to develop this game. We also want to change the controls a little bit, and make the ending more interesting.
Those bugs that you pointed out we will definitely fix, but according to the rules of the jam, we can not update the build before the announcement of the results of the jam :)

Ok thanks for the reply I will be checking for an update keep it up this is awesome.

(+1)

This was just great. The confusion that came from having no idea what to do added to the mystery behind this game. And figuring out bit by bit how to win felt very satisfying. Not to mention the really cool graphical style and sound design. I loved this!

(+1)

Really impressive how you show off a world in such a small space. Top tier work!

(+1)

Great short game! I loved the atmosphere you created here. The notes and fridge were well done. It took a second try to figure out that you could move objects in this game but I managed to beat it. I bet a lot people who played this game "struggled to find the D". Good job developers!

Its the second game in the video.

(+2)

Awesome game! played it first in this video

My Let's Play (I recorded this Dec 11th)

(+2)

Hi, Thanks for making this game
I made you a video

(+1)

Thank you! That's very funny!

No Problem!

(+1)

Loved the atmosphere of the game took awhile for me to get the hang of the controls but love the concept of the game as well check out my video of the playthrough.

(+1)

Congrats, you made me fear a fridge, Loved the ideas here great work indeed!

(+1)

awesome sound and atmosphere!

Thank you! That was a very thorough video ahah

(+2)

Great game, the asthetic is really great! I hope to see more content from this dev <3

excellent video, thank you :)

This fridgey game jam sequence would make for a great horror game addition. It would be cool if there were hints in some hidden pages that maybe the father is responsible for the daughter's disappearance but that's just me. My only bad gripe is that the controls didn't work to move things.

(+1)

Hello, I played this game and I really liked it, the environment was pretty creepy, good work :)

(+1)

I will not buy a red Fridge. :D

(+1)

I like this one. It's pretty cool, man. That fridge is actually pretty creepy when it gets all close to you haha. Thanks for the fun!

(+1)

Thanks for the great video!

(+1)

It was interesting and fun, but I think you should add control instructions at the beginning... I only figured out how to move objects now, while writing this review... Good job anyways! Thank you!

Nice video, thank you!

(+1)

I did complete the game, but i think by accident. Can't seem to find the D on purpose. Can you look into that?

(+1)

Best Tip that the game never tells you, you can left-click-hold to Grab and Throw anything you want - rather than just 'left click to pick up and put down'.

(+1)

Yea thanks for that tip, its very usefull :) still struggling to find the D tho

the letter D under one of the notes :)

"still struggling to find the D tho"

Hueheuheuheuheu

(1 edit)

Not native english, so oops :p but yea i get it

yeah, we definitely should have talked more about the controls, we'll add that after the jam :)
